Who managed to bypass him?
Despite the fact that in the 90s there was no such level of development of computer technology, this time gave us many cinematic masterpieces, and action thrillers are of course no exception. Unlike modern cinema, these films seem to have much more soul, but perhaps this is nostalgia that speaks to us.
As time goes by, it’s becoming easier to judge the movies of the 90s more objectively. Collider has compiled a list of the 10 best action thrillers of that era — and if you thought The Crow would top the list, you’d be wrong. Plus, that’s not even “Heat” starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro!
Yes, it was Andrew Davis’s “The Fugitive,” starring Harrison Ford, that topped everyone on Collider’s list. It’s not necessarily the first film that comes to mind when you hear the actor’s name, but for those who aren’t impressed by Indiana Jones or a galaxy far, far away, this is the best action thriller of its time.
However, “The Fugitive” will not be remade in 2024 (but, to be honest, thank God). In 2024, a new version of “The Crow” starring Bill Skarsgård was released – and not everyone liked it, including the director of the original film, Alex Proyas. He wrote on his social networks that “The Crow” should have been left alone: not so much because it is an eternal classic, but because this film is the legacy of Brandon Lee, who tragically died on set.
