Pedro Pascal returns to the post-apocalypse.
The first season of HBO Max’s hit show The Last of Us dropped in early 2023, and fans have yet to see a continuation of the story of Joel and Ellie surviving in post-apocalyptic America.
The series, which many fans call the best video game adaptation in history, has proven to be one of HBO’s most successful projects since the end of Game of Thrones, so the producers will certainly try to make the second season as cool as possible.
In other words, waiting for The Last of Us to return in 2024 is simply pointless.
But fans of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey’s heroes need not worry. In a recent interview, HBO director Casey Bloys revealed the estimated release date for the second season: the first half of 2025.
Filming for the continuation of the project has already wrapped, so such a release date seems quite realistic. Most likely, HBO is planning to receive a whole bunch of Emmy nominations, and therefore is postponing the release of the show until early next year.
The first season of The Last of Us received incredible reviews from American film critics. 96% “fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, and the Russians even recognized the series 149th the best multi-part project in history, which earned him 7.9 points on Kinopoisk.
Fans have high expectations for The Last of Us’ second season, so writers Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin will have to work hard not to upset fans of the first season.
