Spoilers: Rings of Power raises the stakes with the death of a major character in season 2

The first three episodes of Rings of Power season 2 have been released on Prime Video, and fans were in for a very unpleasant surprise. Showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay decided to shock viewers of the series with one unexpected death that will definitively change the plot of the following seasons of the Lord of the Rings prequel.

In the sixth episode of the first season, Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi) was injured by orcs. But fans were not worried about the fate of this ordinary girl who fell in love with the elf Arondir (Ismael Cruz). The writers confirmed that Bronwyn recovered from her serious injuries.

However, in the third episode of the second season, Arondir learns that his beloved died, unable to cope with the poison the orcs smear their arrows with.

This revelation shocked fans of Rings of Power. Viewers were confused as to why the showrunners decided to kill off such an important character, since the heroine had actually recovered from her injuries.

It turns out that Payne and Mackay are not responsible for Bronwyn’s death. Actress Nazanin Boniadi decided to leave the series herself to focus on charity.

Boniadi ended her acting career in 2022, but most fans only realized it now. The showrunners decided not to cast another actress to play Bronwyn and simply killed the character.

Even the death of a popular character couldn’t dampen the audience’s reaction to the second season of Rings of Power. Right now, the first episode of the second season is doing great 7.5 points on IMDb, and the second and third episodes received from fantasy fans 7.4 points and 7.0 points, respectively.

Not a bad start for a series whose first season was ridiculed by more than just lazy people.
