Former NFL player Kroy Biermann was seen picking up his 15-year-old son Kroy Jr's football jersey in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Saturday in his first public sighting since the teenager was arrested for alleged sexual assault.
The 40-year-old father of six appeared downcast as he retrieved the athletic gear, marking his first appearance since his son was taken into custody earlier in the week.
Biermann, who spent eight seasons in the National Football League primarily as a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, held a blue and white football jersey featuring the number 71. The number matches the jersey worn by Kroy Jr, who goes by the initials KJ, in a photograph shared on social media by his mother, Kim Zolciak, in May.
The outing in Alpharetta, a suburban city in northern Fulton County, saw Biermann wearing an unsmiling expression as he went about his errand and checked his mobile phone. The Daily Mail has contacted Biermann's representative for comment on the situation.
While Zolciak has publicly defended their son against the criminal charges, Biermann has maintained public silence since the teenager's arrest.
Arrest and Criminal Charges in Fulton County
Fifteen-year-old Kroy Jr was arrested in Alpharetta on Monday on serious felony allegations, including aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery. Fulton County, which encompasses the city of Atlanta and its northern suburbs, oversees juvenile justice proceedings through the Juvenile Court of Fulton County.
Following his arrest on Monday, a mugshot of the 15-year-old high school athlete was released by authorities on Thursday. KJ is currently being held without bond at the Juvenile Court of Fulton County, with a court hearing scheduled for September 1, according to Page Six.
According to Fulton County Juvenile Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, the allegations stem from an incident reported at a local facility. The alleged victim, an unidentified female classmate, told investigators she was at the gym when she encountered KJ, who allegedly suggested they enter a co-ed sauna.
To reach the sauna, the two individuals passed through a family changing room, where the alleged assault took place. Court documents state the girl alleged KJ began touching her against her wishes after she explicitly said no.
The female classmate further alleged that KJ forced her to perform oral sex and made multiple attempts to have sexual intercourse by trying to pull down her pants. She told police that when she finally managed to get away from him, he pulled up his pants and left the room.
Police records show an officer was dispatched to North Fulton Hospital on April 24, 2026, following a report of sexual assault. The alleged victim and her father informed officers that the incident had taken place the previous day inside a nearby gym.
Medical personnel examined the alleged victim at North Fulton Hospital on April 24. According to the police report, forensic tests revealed no evidence of male DNA in her mouth or vagina.
Law enforcement officers initiated an investigation following the report. A detective attempted to contact Kroy Biermann Sr on May 14 and successfully spoke with him on May 18, at which point the former athlete stated he would discuss the matter with Kim.
Defenses and Statements from Family and Counsel
Kim Zolciak, 48, strongly criticized the accusations against her son in an official statement provided to the Daily Mail, describing the claims as reckless and deeply troubling.
Zolciak, a television personality best known for starring in Bravo's reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta and its spin-off Don't Be Tardy, maintained her son's complete innocence in her statement.
"He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged," Zolciak said. "My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed."
She added: "Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found. We remain confident that the facts and evidence will establish the truth, and we ask that people allow the proper process to take its course rather than spreading unproven allegations."
KJ's defense attorney, Jason Sheffield, also issued a statement to the Daily Mail asserting that the 15-year-old is entirely innocent of all charges.
"My client is 100% innocent and tried to present evidence to the arresting officer, including a passed Polygraph by a notable and respected sex offender Polygrapher," Sheffield said.
"The fact that he's been arrested and is being held without Bond is a tragedy. He is not only presumed innocent, but is in fact, innocent," the attorney continued. "I will work tirelessly to demonstrate to the District Attorney's office the mean spirited nature of these false allegations and to bring a close to this matter as quickly as possible. I'm asking the Public not to presume the truth of these allegations and to give the families on both sides their space and privacy."
Family Dynamics and High School Football Career
Zolciak and Biermann married in 2011 and raised six children together. In addition to Kroy Jr, the former couple share a 14-year-old son, Kash, and 12-year-old fraternal twins, Kane and Kaia.
Biermann also legally adopted Zolciak's two adult daughters from previous relationships, 29-year-old Brielle and 24-year-old Ariana, following the couple's marriage.

The celebratory birthday post came two weeks after Zolciak alleged in court filings during her divorce proceedings that the couple's children had heard Biermann having sexual relations with multiple partners.
Ongoing Custody Battle and Legal Disputes
Zolciak and Biermann separated in 2023 after 12 years of marriage, entering into a high-profile legal dispute marked by multiple breakups and reconciliations before ending their relationship permanently.
The former couple has been embroiled in an ongoing custody battle over their minor children. In March, Biermann petitioned the court for full legal and physical custody, accusing Zolciak of blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities in court documents.
Biermann told the court that Zolciak's conduct would be practically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances. Zolciak vehemently denied the claims in a public response.
