In the early 90s, Oregon, mass murders according to the same scenario: fathers kill relatives, and then themselves, and before their death leave a note with the word “Long-legged” (in the Russian version – “collector of souls”).
An FBI agent sent into the country’s interior soon finds something that connects all the tragedies, and a deadly game of cat and mouse begins, with Nicolas Cage playing the role of a predator in a terrifying portrayal of a mysterious maniac.
The similarities with the great detective classics end once the protagonist begins to ‘feel’ what she should do next, and also seems to forget about looking for clues – everything is presented to her on a silver platter, as if by the wave of a magic wand.

For a full-fledged horror film, “Collector of Souls” is too relaxing and even soporific, and it doesn’t feel like a detective story because of the large number of hints of mysticism and esotericism.
In short, if you go to the cinema, it’s in the interest of the antagonist played by Cage – he scares you almost every time he’s on screen, and even when he’s clearly overacting.
