Singer Lily Allen admitted she wanted to die because of her divorce from Stranger Things actor David Harbour. British Vogue published a new interview with the singer.

Lily and her ex-husband ended their relationship in 2024 due to her ex-husband’s allegations of infidelity. At that time, Allen was going through a very difficult time. He said he couldn’t sleep, barely ate, and came close to relapse and drinking after six years of sobriety: “The sense of hopelessness I felt was overwhelming. The last time I felt something like this, drugs and alcohol were my outlet, so to sit with it and not use was unbearable.”
Later, the singer went to the hospital alone for the first time: “I have already been to such places against my will, and it seems to me that this is progress in itself.” He added that his desire to die pushed him to this decision. According to the artist, Allen feels much better after the treatment. He got back into the swing of recovery, found a sponsor, and started going to daily addiction meetings again. The singer began meditating, attending psychotherapy and taking antidepressants.
