There have already been two horror films made about Winnie the Pooh: the first was a low-budget cringe (but paid for itself 50 times over at the box office)

Everyone knows Winnie the Pooh from good American and Soviet cartoons. But it turns out that there are two more horror films about him. The first one turned out so bad that it received five anti-awards of the Golden Raspberry. We will tell you now what you can expect from the second part.

What are both films about and what are they called?

The first film, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, was more of a “what if your favorite heroes turned villains” joke than a true horror film. It had a budget of less than $100,000, so instead of moving faces, the animals have rubber masks, and all the murder scenes look like they’re from last century horror movies.

They filmed it all in ten days, so it can’t really be called a cinematic masterpiece. But it went so viral that it made a whopping $5 million at the box office. Considering the budget, that’s a good indicator.

What can you expect from the second part?

Briefly about the plot of the film “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2”: in the first part, a terrible massacre took place in the town of Ashdown, but after a while Christopher Robin returns to it. Everyone blames him for what happened, and only a few believe in the existence of the maniacal Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.

Christopher struggles to cope with his injuries, but soon he must reunite with his childhood “friends” and unravel their terrible secret.

The budget here has been increased to 500 thousand dollars, so there are no more problems with faces and images. There are also new heroes added here: Tigger and Owl. Sean Harrison, who previously worked on Game of Thrones and Harry Potter, was responsible for developing the appearance of the characters.

The villains are now really creepy, the number of victims has increased, cool episodes have appeared (for example, gathering animals at a rave party), and Pooh himself has even acquired a chainsaw. Also in the second part they will talk about the origins of these cruel animals, and at the same time reveal a few secrets of Christopher. But we will not spoil it any further.

The ratings are still not good, but there is progress compared to the first part: on Rotten Tomatoes the film already has more than 50% positive reviews, while the first part only had 3%. Verdict: If you are looking for a humorous horror film with a lot of bloodshed, this is worth watching. The film is already available on Kinopoisk.
