The ending of the episode was disappointing, but left a lot of room for folk art.
The directors of “House of the Dragon” allowed themselves radical deviations from the book canon during the premiere of the second season, and while one part of the audience sheds tears and anger over the “ruined” canonical Blood and Cheese, the other part creates dozens of memes ‘on the topic of the day’. And we chose the funniest one.
The Lannisters in Game of Thrones are confident, proud people who don’t pay their bills until the end of the series. In the spin-off, however, Jason is plagued by setbacks. The king mocks him, and now his chances of becoming one of the suspects in the murder of the unfortunate Jaehaerys have increased.
But all this could have been avoided if the Red Castle had been guarded not only by dragons, but also by some kind of conventional Royal Guard. If Kristan Kohl had not lain quietly in Alicent’s bed, the death of the monarch’s son might have been prevented.
However, the king himself is not the observant type either: as he sat comically on the Iron Throne and risked cutting himself on the sword blades, it was Blood and Cheese that slipped past him.
By the way, the mercenaries did not outrage the public at all by the fact that they killed the young prince – this was known from the books. But Cheese’s treatment of the dog angered the show’s fans.
The audience was also dissatisfied with Rhaenyra’s duplicity, who once again contradicts herself.
When one of the Dark Queen’s sons, albeit accidentally, gouged out Aemond Targaryen’s eye, the ruler let go and avoided Alicent’s retaliation. What happens when the Green Queen’s heir also accidentally kills Lucerys? That’s right: “Son for son.”
