Radio presenter Carrie Bickmore accidentally blurted out an apparent swear word on air during an awkward exchange with her co-host Tommy Little on Monday.
The slip-up occurred during their national Hit Network drive show, which the pair recently announced will finish at the end of the year following reports of a bitter behind-the-scenes rift.
The blunder unfolded while Little was discussing what he had eaten over the weekend, prompting Bickmore to make an unfortunate slip of the tongue.
"I had a chilli con carne that I reheated in the microwave. It was too hot to eat!" Little began.
Bickmore quipped back, "Chilli con can't!" However, her remark was misheard as a swear word and promptly bleeped out of the broadcast.
"Do you realise what you just said?" a shocked Little asked his co-host across the studio desk.

Bickmore quickly explained that she had merely been engaging in playful banter and had attempted to say the word "can't."
Footage of the incident was later posted on social media, where Bickmore joined the comments section to laugh off the faux pas.
"So just for clarification....he was saying the chilli con carne was too hot to eat so I was trying to say chilli con 'carn't', more like it. Context is important," she joked.
Claims of a backstage rift
The awkward on-air mishap comes on the heels of explosive claims about a bitter falling-out between the pair as their decade-long radio partnership comes to an end.
Industry insiders claim that relations between the longtime co-hosts have deteriorated dramatically behind the scenes in recent months.
One source described the situation as a "nasty rift" and alleged that the two presenters are barely able to share a room together when off the air.
"Carrie and Tommy are not speaking," the insider claimed to the Daily Mail. "Things are so toxic, you barely get them in a room together if the mics aren't on."

The reported hostility marks a stark contrast to the effortless chemistry and warm friendship that made them one of Australian radio's most popular duos.
Commercial radio drive programs, which broadcast nationally between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays, are among the most valuable and fiercely contested timeslots in Australian broadcasting. Bickmore and Little have anchored the late-afternoon commute for Southern Cross Austereo's Hit Network since teaming up, broadcasting to millions of listeners in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.
Bickmore has long been one of the country's most prominent media personalities, having spent 13 years fronting Network 10's nightly news program The Project and winning Australian television's highest honour, the Gold Logie Award. Little built his profile as a touring stand-up comedian and regular television panellist before transitioning into full-time national radio.
Romance rumours dismissed
Their on-air rapport and affectionate teasing previously fuelled years of intense speculation that their personal connection extended well beyond the recording booth.

Romance rumours first gained significant traction in early 2023, after Bickmore announced her separation from her partner of 11 years, television producer Chris Walker.
Little was also single at the time, having split from his former girlfriend Natalie Kyriacou in 2021.
That timing prompted fans and listeners to question whether their flirtatious on-air dynamic was blossoming into something deeper in their personal lives, though neither presenter ever confirmed a relationship.
Sources have now firmly dismissed suggestions that the former co-hosts were ever an item, with one well-placed industry insider describing the speculation as "laughable."
"The rumours couldn't be further from the truth," the insider stated, noting that while it was possible they had been romantically involved in the past, that was absolutely no longer the case.
Solo move to rival network
The bitter rift between the presenters comes amid claims that Bickmore had been negotiating a lucrative contract move independently, rather than packaging herself alongside Little as a continuing double act.
It has since been confirmed that Bickmore will jump ship to rival broadcaster Australian Radio Network, joining the lineup at KIIS FM.
Bickmore is set to replace Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw, taking over the drive-time microphone from the long-running Will & Woody show.
The high-profile defection represents one of the biggest personnel shifts in Australian commercial radio, concluding a dominant decade for the duo while Little's next broadcasting venture remains unannounced.
