Brazilian actress Marina Ruy Barbosa has rejected online speculation linking her to former Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro after allegations surfaced on social media.
The 31-year-old television star responded directly on Saturday to an anonymous message suggesting a romantic relationship between her and the Brazilian financier.
The controversy erupted after Brazilian news magazine Veja revealed leaked messages obtained by the Federal Police, documenting a close relationship between Vorcaro and 38-year-old model and former Big Brother Brasil contestant Yasmin Brunet.
Following the coverage of Brunet, an account on the social media platform X told readers to expect further disclosures concerning Vorcaro and a redhead, whom the user described as one of the most beautiful women in Brazil. Although the post did not identify Ruy Barbosa by name, commenters quickly replied to link the description to the actress.
Ruy Barbosa replied directly to the message to challenge the insinuation and demand proof. She wrote that the only contact she ever had was with Vorcaro's partner, Martha Graeff, who was formerly engaged to the banker, and told the author to show evidence if they wanted to insinuate anything.
After the profile responded by claiming the post was not about her, Ruy Barbosa commented again to condemn the speculation. She told the user that next time they posted biased remarks, they should have the courage to provide names and proof to avoid creating doubts and inciting hatred that unfairly targets women with sexism.

The controversy stems from conversations uncovered by the Federal Police spanning nearly two years between Vorcaro and Brunet. According to the reporting by Veja, the records show a close relationship that included frequent personal meetings, regular requests for assistance, and various favors provided to the model by the former banking executive.
The messages indicate that Vorcaro made a residential apartment in the city of Sao Paulo available for Brunet and arranged private aircraft for her journeys. In addition, Banco Master reportedly provided corporate sponsorship to fund a lavish birthday party for Brunet held at the luxury Rosewood hotel in the state capital.
