The highly anticipated first trailer for Arcane’s second season confirmed several bold assumptions from fans. In just 5 months, viewers will see the epic sequel to one of the most popular animated series of recent years, but in the meantime, find out what to expect from the sequel.
Of the most plausible fan theories about the second season’s plot, three stand out: “The Fight for Zaun”, “Chemtech Research”, and “Secrets of the Past”.
“Battle for Zaun”
In the second season, a full-scale war begins between Piltover and Zaun. Tensions run high following the devastating events of the season one finale. Vi and Jinx find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict, further exacerbating their differences.
Plot twists:
1. Unexpected Team-up: Vi is forced to team up with Victor, who has defected to Zaun. Their alliance leads to unexpected consequences when they begin developing new technologies to protect Zaun.
2. Secret Connection: It turns out that one of the high-ranking members of Piltover is secretly helping Zaun. This man tries to prevent a war from within, but he is discovered, which has dramatic consequences.
3. Betrayal: At a crucial moment, Jinx betrays Silko and goes to Vi’s side, realizing that her real family is Vi. This turns the tide of the war and leads to unexpected changes in the fates of all the characters.
“Chemtech research”
Zaun and Piltover face a new threat: unstable chemtech technologies that are spiraling out of control. Vi and Kaylin investigate the root of the problem while trying to find ways to reconcile the two cities.
Plot twists:
1. New Antagonist: A new villain enters the scene and has enormous power thanks to chemtech technology. This man plans to take over both Piltover and Zaun and use the chaos for his own purposes.
2. Loss and Rebirth: Vi is seriously injured during one of the battles. She is on the brink of death, but Victor and Jace develop technology that saves her and turns her into a cyborg with incredible powers.
3. Jinx at a Crossroads: Jinx is faced with a choice: use her power to save Zaun or continue her destruction. As a result, she decides to help Vi and Kaylin fight the new villain, leading to their temporary truce.
“Secrets of the Past”
In the second season, the heroes reveal secrets from their past that affect the present. Old enemies become allies and friends turn traitors.
Plot twists:
1. Wander’s Origin: It is revealed that Wander was part of a secret organization that controlled Zaun from the shadows. This organization now wants to regain control of the city, and Vi and Jinx are forced to fight against them.
2. Victor’s secret: Victor turns out to be the son of one of the members of this organization. He begins to search for the truth about his past, which brings him into conflict with Jace and the other members of Piltover.
3. Fateful Decision: In the season finale, Vi must make a decision that will change everyone’s fate: save her sister Jinx or sacrifice her for the sake of peace between Piltover and Zaun.
