Former BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin replaced Lorraine on the show on Thursday.
Fans flocked to Twitter during the show to praise the presenter, who is leaving her long-standing role on BBC Breakfast in 2021 after almost two decades on the show.
Lorraine is often absent from the show, with Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard regularly standing in as presenters, but in October Louise made her debut as a presenter following her move from the BBC to ITV.
As well as praising Louise, viewers also grumbled about Lorraine’s absence. So the star’s insistence on avoiding her role doesn’t deserve the series’ eponymous title.
Twitter users wrote: “I think someone should make a chart or something similar showing how many times Lorraine has hosted her show this year compared to other presenters.” I really think others have presented it better than her #lorraine…

Viewers not only praised Louise, but also complained about Lorraine’s absence. They emphasized that the star shuns her role and therefore does not deserve the series’ eponymous title.

Fans flocked to Twitter during the show to praise the presenter, who is leaving her long-standing role on BBC Breakfast in 2021 after almost two decades on the show.
“No, I’m sorry I don’t have it!” How can a TV host have a show named after him but never show up for work? Lorraine Kelly is a disgrace! The show is hosted by everyone except the workaholic Lorraine. At this point it needs to be renamed!…
“She’s been getting away with this for too long… Why is ‘Lorraine’ called ‘Lorraine’?” She’s never on the show… I need as much annual leave as Lorraine.
When Louise left BBC Breakfast in 2021, she explained: “I’ve enjoyed being there but I’ve decided it’s time I stop setting my alarm for 3.40am – sometimes when I’m feeling really rebellious. ” 46 hours in the morning – and I leave…
“That won’t be the case for a while and most of all I want to thank everyone for your loyalty and support over the years.” I absolutely loved being a part of it…
“I’m really going to miss it.” But now it’s time to stop the early morning alarms, and thank you for watching all these years.”
In October, around the time of Louise’s first guest appearance, Lorraine was criticized for taking half a week off despite having a grown-up daughter.
Fans of the ITV morning show pointed out that Christine Lampard was a guest presenter despite having two young children, Patricia, five, and Freddie, two.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline last week: “Lorraine is now off for half term and will be back on Monday November 6.”

Louise appeared on the show on Wednesday and Thursday
Fans wondered why Lorraine and not Christine had the day off, with one commenting on Twitter: “Why is Lorraine off for six months she has no school aged children…”
“It’s halftime, which means the woman with the 28-year-old takes a week off and the woman with the toy kids does her show! …”
“So Christine Lampard, who has young children, steps in and hosts Lorraine during the break so Lorraine Kelly can also take a holiday.” Her daughter is 29. She and Susanna Reid both feel entitled…
‘Oh yes. Lorraine is on holiday for half the school year, even though her daughter has not been at school for twenty years, and is being replaced by someone with school-aged children. The usual pointless move.”

Elsewhere on the show, Andi Peters was left red-faced when he accidentally called presenter Christine Bleakley, her maiden name, instead of Lampard.
Christine (44) is a loving mother to her two children Patricia, five, and Freddie, two, whom she shares with husband Frank Lampard.
Lorraine (63) shares daughter Rosie (28) with husband Steve, whom she married in 1992.
