Sydney Sweeney Admits ‘Euphoria’ Co-Star Angus Cloud’s Death Doesn’t ‘Feel Real Yet’

Sidney SweeneyThe 26-year-old spoke about the pain he still feels for his ex Euphoria Co-star Angus cloud, after his death at age 25 earlier this year. The actress and the rest of her castmates will begin production on the show’s third season next year, and she still can’t come to terms with the fact that the late actor won’t be joining them.

“[My co-stars and I] “We were constantly on the phone crying,” Sydney said. charm, in a new interview. “Because it was a big shock.”

“I don’t think it feels real or hits me until we’re shooting and I see Angus on set,” he continued. “[At least] When we’re filming, all our eyes are on each other and we’re there for each other, in a different way than when we’re all in very different places in the world.”

“It’s really interesting when someone dies in our industry because in many ways they’re still alive,” he added.

Sydney, who paid tribute to Angus in a post seen above, plays Cassie Howard, a popular girl struggling to navigate complicated relationships, on the hit HBO series. Angus played the role of Fezco “Fez” O’Neill, a sensitive drug dealer. They starred together in the first two seasons.

Angus’ death was announced by his family in July. “It is with the heaviest of hearts that today we had to say goodbye to an incredible human being,” they said in a statement to PEOPLE. “As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

Angus’ cause of death was later determined to be acute poisoning following an accidental overdose. He died a few weeks after his father’s death.

“The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend,” the family’s statement continues. “Angus has spoken openly about his battle with mental health and we hope his passing will remind others that they are not alone and should not have to fight this alone and in silence.”
