A major pop star’s TV show has been canceled by Prime Video bosses after just one series.
James Blunt’s Beer Masters challenged five teams of homebrewers to create their own beer inspired by the iconic beers of Europe.
The show was the You’re Beautiful singer’s first foray into television hosting and saw him team up with beer expert Jaega Wise.
There are head brewers from Camden Town Brewery and Stella Artois as well as celebrity judges such as Daisy Lowe.
The best beer was then stored in James’ pub, The Fox And Pheasant in West London, which he bought in 2017.
Big blow: A major pop star’s TV show has been canceled by Prime Video bosses after just one series

On hold: James Blunt’s Beer Masters challenged five teams of homebrewers to create their own beers inspired by Europe’s legendary beers
However, despite its success and popularity among fans, a second series was not commissioned.
A source told The Sun: “Beer Masters had all the makings of a long-running hit for Prime Video and was well received by customers.”
“But sometimes these limited series don’t fit with ongoing commercial strategies, it’s not just about the ratings.”
Over five episodes, the pressure mounted as teams brewed different styles of beer while learning the processes, history and culture behind Europe’s best brands.
Each episode also gave teams a “serving challenge,” from designing their own beer label to developing accompanying dishes.
Each week one beer was awarded gold and a place in the finals and the overall winners saw their beer hit the market and sold commercially.
“I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven,” James said of the new venture at the time.
“This is my dream job, even though my technical knowledge is limited to a little home brewing as a student and my knowledge of beer is limited to drinking.” I definitely gained a lot of experience.
“I spent seventeen years on a tour bus, which is basically a mobile bar that never runs out of beer. And soldiers also have a good reputation when it comes to drinking.”
James rose to fame in 2005 when his first single, “You’re Beautiful,” reached number one for five weeks.
