There probably wasn’t a single family in the 1990s that wouldn’t look at Santa Barbara. The series about the ups and downs of the Capwells and the Lockridges ran for many years and was remembered not only for the “soap opera” plot, but also for the abundance of actors. However, some of them have become so old over time that fans hardly recognize them anymore.
The role of Cruz Castillo was played by artist Ay Martinez. At the time of filming the movie saga, he was already over 40 and received the Emmy Award for the project at 42 – a respectable age for a sex symbol.
Now that Martinez is 74 years old, he continues to act, although not as often as before. He worked in the movies The Curse of Chucky, Longmeyer, Criminal Minds and many other lesser known films.
Even before the release of the famous series, in 1982, he married Leslie Bryans, and so he never parted with her. The couple raised three children: a son and two daughters.
