Fans clearly weren’t ready for this.
The first cartoon about Shrek and his friends appeared on the screens in 2001 and immediately won the love of the audience. Three additional stories have been released since then and the last one was shown a whopping 13 years ago, so fans were hoping not to see their favorite characters again. But soon it will happen.
It turns out that DreamWorks Animation is hard at work on the fifth part. And this time the main character will not be a green giant, but a talkative and ubiquitous donkey.
Now the producers are actively negotiating with the artists who will voice the characters. So Shrek will probably be re-dubbed by Michael Myers and Fiona by Cameron Diaz.
As for the donkey, Eddie Murphy himself expressed a desire to “stay in the shoes” of this hero, writes Variety. So it remains to wait for the official release date of the cartoon on the screens.
