Married couple Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton apparently didn’t have to stray far from their family tree to find love.
Reports recently surfaced claiming that Tahnee and Ollie’s TV wedding took a bizarre turn when they found out they were distant relatives.
The reveal was never aired, but Tahnee has now confirmed the rumors are true and told Yahoo Lifestyle that she has never regretted marrying her own family member.
“At the wedding, the two families were clearly separated. Ollie’s mother looked over and she saw Jasper, my sister’s fiance, and she said, ‘I know you! Your father is my cousin!” recalls the 27-year-old.
And then she started freaking out and said, “What if the bride is Jasper’s sister?” Because then we would literally be blood relatives,” she continued.

Fortunately, the couple are only related by marriage. Ollie (26) is the second cousin of Tahnee’s brother-in-law, Jasper, who is not related to Tahnee by blood.
However, if Tahnee’s sister decides to have children with Jasper, her child will be related by blood to both Tahnee and Ollie.
While some people are put off by the idea of marrying a distant relative, Tahnee sees their unlikely bond as “a good omen.”

While some people may be averse to the idea of marrying a distant relative, Tahnee sees their unlikely union as “a good omen.”
“I took it as a wonderful sign because I love Jasper. He’s amazing and I have a great relationship with him, so I thought if Ollie’s family is anything like Jasper’s family, then we’re cute,” she said.
The couple hit it off immediately after exchanging vows before flying to Fiji and consummating their wedding on the first night of their honeymoon.
Tahnee and Ollie are the youngest couple ever to appear on Married at First Sight.
The couple has only grown stronger in the months since filming began, and the couple recently moved in together.
