Didn’t even film it.
We know actor Matthew Perry from many roles in the cinema, but it was the role of Chandler that became the stepping stone to star Olympus. At first glance, the series was completely light and relaxed, and Matthew fit in perfectly, but behind the scenes, the actor’s life literally went downhill.
Even film colleagues did not suspect that Perry suffered from a strong alcohol and drug addiction. He drank every day, even after filming, while taking 20-30 Vicodin tablets. The situation got worse, but he continued to play the role of Chandler.
The terrible was noticed by David Schwimmer, the performer of the role of Ross. He insisted on the need for rehabilitation in the clinic – Perry underwent it in 1997 and 2001. Perhaps a colleague saved Matthew’s life.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor is now an active advocate of a healthy lifestyle, and also works with the Phoenix House addiction treatment center in California.
