Ariana DeBose’s stunning musical number at the BAFTAs, including a rap shout-out to the female nominees, has become a cottage industry. Now the actress herself is heating up the fun by sharing some of her favorite online jabs on Instagram on Saturday.
DeBose wasn’t as confident immediately after her performance. She deactivated her Twitter account after a flurry of ridicule over the performance. But the passage of time and the occasional fan support boosted their spirits.
Also among the supporters was Lizzo, who produced a TikTok that imitates DeBose rapping. Singer Adele also provided support from the stage.
“The Internet is wild,” DeBose wrote. “Cherish all the love.”
