A24 was nominated for an Oscar Everything, everywhere, all at once won Film of the Year and LGBTQ Film of the Year as it swept the top nine trophies at the 14th Annual Dorian Film Awards presented by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.
Everything everywhereThe wins also include two for Michelle Yeoh – for Film Performance of the Year and the group’s Wild Artist Award. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert won the director/writer award, Ke Huy Quan won the supporting role, and Stephanie Hsu was named Newcomer of the Year. The picture also won for Visually Striking Film.
It was a big performance in the wins for A24, who also had wins After sun (Best Unsung Film) and Marcel wears the shell with shoes (animated film) and for the lead role of Mia Goth pearl which took home the Campiest Flick award.
Neon wins Venice All the beauty and the bloodshed by Laura Poitras was also a double winner, for Best Documentary and Best LGBTQ Documentary. Foreign film of the year goes to Variance Films RRR.
Along with Yeoh, the group’s other honoree this year was Janelle Monáe, who won the GALECA LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer Award.
