Not the sultan, but the walking dead: the real Suleiman turned out to be worse than death

Nothing to do with the hero of the “Magnificent Age”.

Halit Ergench played Sultan Suleiman in the TV series “The Magnificent Century”, so that fans around the world immediately fell in love with him. Admittedly, the real historical character is far from such a hot handsome man.

No charisma, no dark beard, no platinum eyes. Hurrem Sultan’s husband is described as a man of unusually tall stature with a gray face. It follows from the memoirs of the Venetian ambassador Benedetto Ramberti that the ruler often abused illegal means, hence the painful appearance.

“He is unusually tall, thin, with thin and fragile bones. His face is dark, with a grayish tint and as if smoked, ”he wrote in one of his works, reports the Oriental Tale Zen channel.
