Gordan Ramsay admitted he regretted not being able to defend himself after neighbors in Cornwall criticized him and his family for moving to their beach house from London during the first COVID quarantine in 2020.
The TV chef has spent most of 2020 in the £2.4m holiday home with his wife Tana and their five children Megan, 23, Holly and Jack, 22, Tilly, 20 and Oscar.
But the family was targeted by locals at the time, who accused them of breaking government rules and “taking the virus out of London”.

In a new interview with the Radio Times, Gordon said he was still surprised why they were so heavily criticized and said, “God knows why we pulled so much out of Cornwall. We lived there; We just haven’t been there for a long time.’
“We never sneaked in there. We came at the right time and we had a great time.’
The successful chef and TV star stated that he spent quality time with his family during the quarantine, adding, “A moment like this – we will never go back. “When the kids started disappearing again, I didn’t want him to be the father and not the cook,” she said.
Gordon angered locals after he moved into his second home in Cornwall during the coronavirus crisis, despite the government asking the British not to travel.

Villagers nearby were reportedly enraged after Gordon and his family fled to the holiday home to self-isolate amid the ongoing pandemic.
Locals in the West Country have called for tougher action against people fleeing their vacation homes, as second home owners have been accused of sneaking into the area in the middle of the night.
According to Il Solea, villagers at the time feared that Gordon might have brought the virus from London and wanted to “get him out of Cornwall” and even threatened to reveal his address if he didn’t go.
In the news the newspaper saw, local residents expressed their disappointment in a Facebook group called You Shouldn’t Be Here. One user wrote: “Big shit should get himself and his family out of Cornwall.”
Another said: “The rich second homer thinks that gaining a few pounds means they are immune to the virus and to any rule. Their arrogance in these good days showed how bad some are.’

Not satisfied: Villagers at the time were worried that Gordon might have brought the virus from London and wanted him to “hell from Cornwall,” according to The Sun, threatening to reveal his address if he didn’t go.
A resident accused Gordon of ignoring government orders to remain in prime position. They wrote: “She wanders around the shops as if nothing happened.”
But a friend told MailOnline at the time of the news: “When the kids are back from college and Gordon is back from filming, the family sees Cornwall as their family home, where they spend all their time.
“They’ve lived there for ten years and Jack lives there full time. Many of her neighbors are very welcoming and love to be part of the community.
“Since arriving on 20 March, they have followed the government’s advice along with the rest of the country, and the campaign against them is painful and unnecessary at a time when we all need to unite and support each other.”

Wow: In the summer of 2020, Gordon even installed a new swimming pool at his Cornwall vacation home on his Instagram account, which regularly showcases the incredible house.
The star was also targeted after she was spotted several times on long field trips when outings were limited to one hour a day, including a walk on the beach with her entire family.
The Hell’s Kitchen star also had problems with the local coast guard, who gave her an official warning that she was clearly breaking lockdown rules.
Sources said Gordon has been spotted in Rock, Fowey, Port Isaac and Newquay, just a short distance from his £4m home in Trebetherick.
The warning was particularly alarming as she is the face of a YouTube “Stay At Home” initiative that she associates with ten-minute cooking shows shot alone in Ramsay’s kitchen in Cornwall.
Gordon had already received complaints from locals for demolishing his 1920s clifftop home to build two new homes, while neighbors accused him of bringing “Legoland to Cornwall”.
Chief demolished the original five-bedroom property on the site in Rock, Cornwall, which he bought for £4.4 million in 2015.
At the time, it was the second most expensive sale in Cornwall and infuriated local residents.
Originally from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, the television superintendent received building permits from Cornwall Council to replace the 1920s property with a main house and a smaller secondary property known as the “Garden House”.
The new house has two kitchens, a swimming pool, a pantry and four private bathrooms, about 100 meters from the beach. Gordon also got the green light to build a three-bedroom grassy boathouse just steps from the water at high tide.

About 20 people wrote to Cornwall Council to complain that the Garden House, about 25 meters from the beach, would ruin the designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and impair the views of other residents.
The consultants answered affirmatively when asked why other properties were not overlooked.
At the time, a spokesperson for Ramsay tried to spread the dispute, saying, “Gordon, Tana and family look forward to spending time at their new home in Cornwall.”
“They are determined to contribute and invest in the future of the Cornish community that they hope to be a part of for years to come.”
Other neighbors also defended the Ramsays, arguing that the rivals did so simply because of their name and that several old houses on Rock Road had already been demolished.
