Jaclyn Smith Reveals Whether She’ll Reprise Iconic Role In Another ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Movie (Exclusive)

More than 40 years have passed since then jaclyn smith became a household name as her character Kelly Garrett on the hit 1970s TV series, Charlie’s Angels. After building a fashion empire by recently launching her new line Jaclyn Smith Fashions, the 77-year-old iconic actress and businesswoman spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Hollywood life whether he would reprise the role given the chance. (Of note, there have been several live-action movies that have come out of Charlie’s Angels television program, which aired between 1976 and 1981).

the first two Charlie’s Angels Movie – Charlie’s Angels Y Charlie’s Angels: full throttle – starred Drew Barrymore, 47, Cameron Diaz50, and Lucy Liu, 54. Jaclyn told us she would have joined the cast if there was another setup. “Yes, why not,” Jaclyn said HL extension as she talks about her latest clothing line, which sold out on HSN shortly after its January 5th release. “We can evolve and show our children and show our granddaughters,” she added.

Jaclyn credited the show, which the late actress also starred in. Farrah Fawcett Y kate jackson, 74, among others, with the empowerment of women in the industry. “Before Charlie, there had never been three female leads on one show. If there was, it was, you know, a nurse or a wife or a mother,” she told us. “I think Charlie took that step forward for women. economically independent women. Let’s help pave the way.”

For the past few years, Jaclyn has said it’s her role as a grandmother to her two adoring granddaughters: bia7, and pink olive, 4 – which occupied a central place in his life. So what would you say to one of them if they told their grandmother they want to be actresses? “Well, I would say it was wonderful for me. She really opened so many doors for me. And I think if that was what they wanted and they were serious, I would encourage them,” Jaclyn tells us.

“It’s not just about saying I want to be an actress, it’s about the training and what that entails,” Jaclyn said. “Nothing comes easy. And if it was wonderful to me, then I would embrace it. Because when you have a passion for something, that’s the first step, that’s the most important step. So I’d say, ‘Hey, I’m right behind you. ‘”

However, over the years, Jaclyn said, television in general has changed dramatically. “TV is very different than when our show was on,” he told HollywoodLife. “It’s just a reality show. But that’s not really, you know, reality. And then there are all the cables. I don’t know how people decide what to watch. There are many. It’s a different world. Honestly, I love the period Charlie was going through. There were three networks. It was a family show. It was perfect for me.”
