Brooklyn Beckham Shows Tattoo Cover-Up Amid Family Rift

Brooklyn Beckham revealed an updated chest tattoo on social media as he continues covering up inkings dedicated to his estranged family.

Brooklyn Beckham Shows Tattoo Cover-Up Amid Family Rift

Brooklyn Beckham has revealed an updated floral cover-up tattoo on social media following a run, as he continues erasing physical tributes to his estranged family.

The 27-year-old aspiring chef posted a shirtless selfie on Wednesday showcasing his toned torso and the modified artwork on his left pectoral muscle, taking inspiration from his estranged father, former England football captain David Beckham, 51.

The revised design is believed to depict the bridal bouquet from his 2022 wedding to American actress Nicola Peltz, covering an older inscription reading "mama's boy" that he obtained in 2018 for his mother, former Spice Girls singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, 52.

On Tuesday Brooklyn revealed his tattoo tribute to estranged mum Victoria has almost gone now when he took to social media to show off his updated floral cover-up. (the image is flipped because it's a selfie)

Beckham first revealed he was covering the maternal tribute last summer during a Glamour magazine photoshoot, but his latest selfie confirms that the original lettering dedicated to Victoria is now almost entirely gone.

The aspiring chef, who has had a bitter falling out with his famous family, previously had 'mama's boy' written across his left pec in 2018

Covering Up Family Ink Tributes

The updated chest tattoo is part of a broader pattern of Beckham removing body art dedicated to his famous relatives amid an ongoing family rift.

On his upper right arm, Beckham has erased a large anchor tattoo that featured the word "Dad," replacing it partially with a star and a collection of non-descript shapes.

Brooklyn first revealed he had started covering up his 'mama's boy' tattoo last summer when his picture appeared in Glamour

A separate handwritten inking reading "love you Bust", a reference to Buster, the nickname given to him by his father as a boy, appears heavily faded and lasered, while a tattoo marking David's birth year of "1975" is no longer visible.

Images also indicate that Beckham has covered up finger tattoos that previously displayed the names of his siblings: 23-year-old Romeo Beckham, 21-year-old Cruz Beckham, and 15-year-old Harper Beckham.

Brooklyn unveiled the 'mama's boy' inkwork (seen on his chest) in 2019 after first visiting a tattoo studio in 2017

A thick dark line is now visible across his ring finger where the names of his siblings were previously inked.

Despite these changes, Beckham retains a large ballerina tattoo on his calf, which he got in 2018 to honor his younger sister Harper.

This is not the only tattoo tribute Brooklyn has covered over as he erased his large anchor with the word 'Dad' on his upper right arm and 'Love you Bust' is now barely visible

He also keeps a matching "brotherhood" tattoo on his right leg, which he obtained in 2023 alongside Romeo and Cruz after visiting fine line tattoo artist Pablo, known online as Certified Letter Boy.

The tattoo, which previously said 'dad', now has a series of non-descript shapes and a star

While Brooklyn and Romeo have the design on their legs, Cruz has the matching ink on his hand.

Social Media Statement and Family Rift

The physical removal of family body art follows Beckham cutting ties with his family in a scathing social media statement published in January.

In the statement, Beckham declared that he has no plans to reconcile with his parents, accusing David and Victoria of controlling him for most of his life and placing performative narratives in the press to preserve their family image.

Beckham claimed he was silent for years to keep matters private, but spoke out because his parents and their team continued leaking lies to media outlets at the expense of innocent people.

He alleged that his parents attempted to ruin his relationship with Peltz before their wedding, claiming Victoria canceled making Peltz's wedding dress at the eleventh hour and forced her to urgently find a replacement.

He also stated that weeks before the ceremony, his parents repeatedly pressured and tried to bribe him into signing away the rights to his name, which would have impacted him, his wife, and their future children.

Their names covered up

Beckham noted that his refusal to sign affected his parents' payday and altered how they treated him from that point forward.

During wedding planning, Beckham alleged his mother called him "evil" after he and Peltz chose to seat his Nanny Sandra and Peltz's Naunni at their table because both grandmothers lacked husbands, while both sets of parents had equal adjacent tables.

He further claimed that members of his family told him the night before the wedding that Peltz was "not blood" and "not family."

Allegations of Wedding Humiliation and Disrespect

Beckham outlined an incident during his wedding reception in front of 500 guests, alleging his mother hijacked his scheduled romantic first dance with Peltz to a song introduced by singer Marc Anthony.

Brooklyn still has his large ballerina calf tattoo tribute to his sister Harper, which he got in 2018

He claimed Victoria was waiting to dance with him instead and danced very inappropriately on him, causing him intense embarrassment and prompting the couple to plan a vow renewal to create positive memories.

Beckham accused his family of consistently disrespecting Peltz, asserting that his mother repeatedly invited women from his past into their lives to make the couple uncomfortable.

He also detailed a trip to London for his father's birthday, claiming he and Peltz waited in a hotel room for a week while David refused to see him unless it was at a 100-guest party with cameras or without Peltz present, calling the condition a slap in the face.

He added that when his family later traveled to Los Angeles, they refused to meet with him entirely, and noted that Victoria refused to support Peltz's efforts to save displaced dogs during the Los Angeles fires.

Declaring that "Brand Beckham comes first," Beckham said family affection was measured by social media posts and photo opportunities, adding that while he grew up with overwhelming anxiety, stepping away from his parents has brought him peace, relief, and privacy.

Legal Communication and Commercial Backlash

Beckham stated that his brothers were sent to attack him on social media before blocking him last summer, while Beckham blocked his parents on Instagram shortly before Christmas last year.

Lawyers representing Beckham subsequently wrote to the Beckhams' team requesting that all future communication take place strictly through legal representatives, with the Daily Mail contacting Beckham's representatives for comment at the time.

Beckham has not publicly acknowledged any of his parents' birthdays or milestones since the fallout began around David's 50th celebrations, and did not share a post for Father's Day this year.

Reports previously indicated that Beckham was furious when his parents included him in a Father's Day post, reiterating his desire to be left alone.

Tensions escalated further earlier this year after Beckham starred in a sponsored two-part commercial for food delivery company DoorDash, just five months after requesting privacy.

In a teaser clip released on June 15, Beckham smirks at the camera and says: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the Fifa World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story."

Fans criticized the video as classless, accusing Beckham of mocking his parents and profiting off their name, while friends of David and Victoria reported that the couple were left devastated and inconsolable by the advertisement.
