Reggaeton singer Arcángel will conclude his world tour with three concerts at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan in December, concert producers announced on Wednesday.
The artist, whose real name is Austin Santos and who is also known as La Maravilla, will perform on December 11, 12, and 13. The shows will mark the final stops of his tour, titled La Última Parada: La 8va Maravilla World Tour.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, concert production companies Move Concerts and Noah Assad Present said the three special nights in Santos's homeland will celebrate a career that has been fundamental to the evolution and global expansion of Latin urban music. The producers noted that the tour, also designated as La 8va Maravilla World Tour 20 Aniversario, commemorates two decades of work in the music industry.
According to the announcement, Santos has developed a distinct artistic identity that has shaped the urban music genre over the past 20 years. Organisers highlighted early career-defining tracks such as Ven y pégate, Chica virtual, and Pa que la pases bien, alongside songs that remain part of the repertoire for multiple generations of listeners.
Two decades of Latin urban music
Austin Santos was born in New York City to Dominican parents and relocated to Puerto Rico as a teenager to pursue music. He first gained widespread attention in the mid-2000s as one half of the reggaeton duo Arcángel & De La Ghetto before establishing a solo career in 2007. Over the past two decades, his melodic vocal style and songwriting helped establish him as a central figure in Latin urban music.
Reggaeton developed in Puerto Rico during the 1990s by blending Jamaican reggae and dancehall rhythms with Latin American styles and hip-hop. The genre has since expanded from island dance clubs into a dominant force in global popular music, filling arenas and topping music charts worldwide.
Producers described the 20th anniversary tour as both a retrospective of Santos's musical repertoire and a celebration of the broader evolution of urban music. They added that the upcoming concerts in San Juan are designed to bring together the history, songs, and key moments of his 20-year career on a single stage for his fanbase.
Final performances in San Juan
The venue for the final concerts, the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, is the island's largest indoor entertainment facility. Capable of accommodating up to 18,500 attendees, the arena, commonly referred to as the Choliseo, is considered the premier stage for Latin music artists. Multi-night concert runs at the venue are widely regarded in the industry as a sign of major commercial success.
The events are being mounted by Move Concerts, one of Latin America's largest independent live entertainment promoters, alongside Noah Assad Present. Promoter and executive Noah Assad is widely known in the Latin music industry for managing global superstar Bad Bunny and producing major arena tours across the Americas.
The December concerts will bring Santos's world tour to a close in San Juan, uniting generations of fans to mark 20 years of his music career. The three dates on December 11, 12, and 13 will serve as the official finale for La 8va Maravilla World Tour.
