Amazon has released the official trailer for Carrie, a new six-episode television series based on the novel by Stephen King that will premiere on Prime Video on October 7.
All six episodes of the mystery series will be made available on the streaming service on the premiere date, giving viewers access to the full story at launch.
The story follows a young girl who faces constant mistreatment from her classmates at school as well as her mother at home. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers she has developed paranormal abilities, enabling her to manipulate and move physical objects using only her mind.
Cast and creative team
Summer H. Howell stars in the title role. The main cast also features Matthew Lillard, Katee Sackhoff, and Samantha Sloyan, alongside several supporting actors.
The project is written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who previously directed the film adaptation of King's work The Life of Chuck. Flanagan has established a reputation as a leading creator of horror and supernatural television, known for crafting character-driven suspense stories.
Lillard gained widespread recognition for his role in the 1996 horror film Scream, while Sackhoff is widely known for her role in the sci-fi series The Mandalorian. Sloyan has previously collaborated with Flanagan on several major television projects, including The Life of Chuck.

The series is based on King's debut novel Carrie, published in 1974. King is one of the most successful horror authors in publishing history, with dozens of bestselling novels that have been adapted into major motion pictures and television series over the past five decades.
Prime Video is the digital streaming service operated by tech company Amazon, delivering original films and episodic television series to subscribers around the world.
The complete six-episode run of Carrie will premiere globally on Prime Video on October 7.
