A tearful Ellen DeGeneres continues to mourn the loss of her boyfriend Stephen “tWitch” Boss days after his death by suicide.
In an emotional video Friday, DeGeneres urged everyone to “love each other and let people know we’re here for them.”
“I just wanted to say that the last 11 days have been very difficult for everyone. Everyone is in pain and trying to understand. We’ll never understand,” DeGeneres said, fighting back tears. “The holidays are hard anyway, I guess, but in honor of Twitch, the best we can do is laugh and hug, play games, dance and sing. This is how we honor him. We do the things he loved… And I know it seems hard. It seems impossible. But this is how we honor him. We hug and tell each other we love each other and let people know we are there for them. Look at the people.”
“I know it’s not a happy holiday, but it was pure light,” she adds. “If you knew him, you knew it. If you didn’t know him, you saw him. Let’s honor and remember him and send love to each other.”
