Allison Mack opens up: From SMALLVILLE star to NXIVM cult member in new podcast

After years of silence and infamy, ex Smallville actress Allison Mack is finally ready to talk about her shocking fall from Hollywood fame to life as a convicted criminal. Mack, best known for playing Chloe Sullivan, Clark Kent’s best friend Smallvilledisappeared from the spotlight after becoming entangled with the NXIVM sex cult.

In 2018, the FBI arrested Mack and charged her with trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy. What followed was a wave of charges, from money laundering to racketeering and identity fraud. Mack pleaded guilty and served two years in prison before her release in 2023.

For years it remained completely under the radar. Reports claimed that Mack had played a major role in recruiting new NXIVM members, and was even accused of trying to bring in some of her Smallville co-stars.

But now, the 42-year-old actress is ready to tell her side of the story in a new CBC podcast titled CBC Uncover: Allison After NXIVM, out November 10.

The podcast promises to explore Mack’s journey from rising TV star to one of NXIVM’s most notorious members and the consequences of it all. Hosted by Natalie Robehmed, the series offers exclusive access to Mack and those who knew her before, during and after her involvement with the group.

Here is the official description of the podcast:

“You think you know the story of NXIVM. The secret self-help empire. The headlines of sex cults. The fall of its leader, Keith Raniere. But the most famous woman at the center of the story has remained largely silent.

On ALLISON AFTER NXIVM, host Natalie Robehmed reveals the story of Allison Mack: former Smallville actress, high-ranking NXIVM member, and convicted criminal.

With exclusive access following his release from prison, this series traces his surprising path from Smallville fame to the inner circle of NXIVM – and his effort to rebuild a life in the rubble.

Through raw interviews and revealing conversations with those who knew her before, during, and after NXIVM, ALLISON AFTER NXIVM dives deep into the gray areas of influence, responsibility, and redemption.

The podcast trailer teases emotional and disturbing moments, including discussions of sexual abuse and manipulation. Listeners should be aware that the topic may be triggering.

While fans might be hoping for stories from the Smallville set, it doesn’t look like the series will focus much on that chapter of his life.

Instead, Allison After NXIVM appears to be Mack’s attempt to face his past and start a new chapter.

Mack reportedly got married earlier this year, and while a return to Hollywood seems unlikely, it’s possible she could reappear on the convention scene at some point.

CBC Uncover: Allison After NXIVM premieres November 10.
