Whoopi Goldberg is missing ‘The View’ after a Covid diagnosis

Whoopi Goldberg was absent The view Monday after he was diagnosed with Covid. A spokesperson for the ABC daytime talk show confirmed the news.

Sara Haines took over Goldberg’s hosting duties and opened the show in Goldberg and Joy Behar’s absence. Since the beginning of season 26, Behar’s performances have been Tuesday through Friday, so her absence was not surprising.

The rest of the panel consisted of Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Goldberg’s last performance on The view was on November 10 with a show dedicated to the celebration of her birthday which was on November 13. In late 2021, Goldberg was diagnosed with Covid during the show’s holiday and missed several shows earlier in the year.

When the show resumed on January 5 this year, she appeared from home and talked about her diagnosis.

“I left just before halftime a few weeks ago because someone close to me tested positive for the coronavirus,” she said on the show. “I feel like I’ve been gone for a long time. They have to test us and they sent people to test me. And they tested me and it was like, ‘Oh no, you’re not coming back. We don’t send anyone to your house, you have corona.’ “

Goldberg said she was shocked because she was “triple vaccinated” and had no one with the virus.

“I just feel like you can only do what you can do, and what your body decides what it’s going to do is what you have to work with,” Goldberg said earlier this year.

The view airs weekdays on ABC.
