Fort Boyard – Caroline Margeridon: "I said I wouldn’t come again, but…"

The buyer of a done deal loves Fort Boyard so much that he wants more! Tonight he will be trying to raise money for the laVita association, which helps prevent suicide among young people aged 13-25.

You already joined the show last season. What made you want to come back this year?

Caroline Margaretdon: I don’t know if it’s unconsciousness, masochism, insanity or just having a good time! But last year I said I would never come again because they threw me into the water at 12°C in my ski suit! Also, I’m the oldest and I don’t exercise at all. But when it comes to raising money for an association, I always answer yes.

Are you prepared in a special way with your experience?

I am the laziest person in the world but I am physically strong because as a brokante I have moved furniture for a long time. If I arm wrestle a man, I usually beat him. But for this Fort Boyard, I told myself that I would trust the team that was playing with me.

What exactly do you think of him?

All my teammates in this edition are great. I imagined Messmer hypnotizing Father Fouras to give us the answers… I fell in love with Philippe Cavarivière’s determination and geniality. Edgar-Yves Monnou is a real clown. Moussa Niangane did Koh-Lanta and he has a great physique. And like all Miss France, Vaimalama Chaves is very brave.

You endure six attempts tonight. Which one impressed you the most?

You must complete a survey before joining. I spoke sternly and said that I was not afraid of anything, to avoid an ordeal I would not like. I freaked out when I saw the phone booth where we were shaking like a ping pong ball. I also had tarantulas on my head, but I was lucky to be able to control myself. Finally, Fort Boyard taught me to go after myself. I don’t know if the hardest is to pass the tests or to follow Passe-Partout and Passe-Muraille… I’ve never seen men run this fast!

So are you ready to do it again next year?

Yes, because I want to team up with my accomplices from Affaire, who wrote a play that we will play together in 2023, and comedian Zize Dupanier. It’s hilarious and should be reimbursed by Social Security! I’m also hoping to convince Soso (Sophie Davant, editor’s note), who this year almost agreed but gave up at the last minute because she was fed up with her bruises. (laughs)

Will we see you on the screens at the beginning of the academic year?

On September 2, we will prepare a special episode at Braderie de Lille. We’ll be shooting a prime in Lyon next weekend and of course we’ll be resuming recordings of the daily broadcasts soon.

Fort Boyard, Saturday, August 20, France 2.
