Have you cured your fear of mice and snakes before joining the castle for the fourth time?
Karima Charni: No, I’m still afraid of bugs and emptiness. However, I always come back with pleasure. Fort Boyard is a unique program and experience. As soon as you set foot on the cobblestone pavements of the castle, you rediscover your child’s soul. This season, I did it for the Nourette association, which supports hospitalized children and their families. When our captain, Jean-Luc Lemoine, told me about the disappearance of a small boy attending his daughter’s school, it struck me, and I did not hesitate to return to face my old fears.
After so many engagements, are you still surprised at the production of Fort Boyard?
Of course, every day is Christmas there!
Which game has really tested your nerves this season?
I have vertigo and got beat up at the bell event this year. Standing on a trapeze above the treasure room, I need to catch a high cue. My team members are pulling a string to give the trapeze more and more amplitude. Fear ! Will I emerge victorious from this challenge? One thing is for sure, I shed a few tears…
Something about your team?
I don’t know how production is going to bring the teams together. But it’s perfect. We’ve all had wills at some point, but we’ve given up everything to recover the keys and clues to the treasure room. I was very impressed with my playmates.
Can we meet at LCI in September?
Sure. I keep the culture column on weekend mornings. I also have another project, but let’s wait for the start of the academic year to talk about it…
