For ten days each summer, the port city of Morbihan keeps up with the rhythm of inter-Celtic culture. A retrospective of the highlights of this unmissable event.

Welcome to the new generation…

Fleuves, an atypical trio inspired by traditional Breton dances, Mec Lir a quartet from the Isle of Man, singer Rodrigo Cuevas, whose music is mixed with traditional rhythms and songs from northern Spain, Llan de Cubel, Silvia Quesada, singer, instrumentalist and composer, pioneers of the Asturian people… they are all part of this new generation of artists waiting to be discovered.

Asturias in the spotlight

The 51st edition, held from 5 to 14 August, was placed under the sign of this principality located in the north of Spain. Many Asturian artists were there: Rubén Alba y Nel de Purnea, Algaire, Baxel, La Garrapiella y Monteavaro… At the same time, a tribute was paid to the deceased musician Elías García, the great master of folk music of this region. in 2019.

70 years of Bagad de Lann-Bihoué

The pride of the Navy since 1952, the traditional Breton band celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. With all the former members of the band, this is an anniversary that will be celebrated with great fanfare during this edition. The goal is to assemble more than three hundred bells reached for the 60th anniversary of the most famous bagadoù during the Heritage Days in 2012.

Special concert of Gaëtan Roussel

Another nice surprise for this 51st edition! Gaëtan Roussel, a former member of the Louise Attaque band, will take the stage to give us a unique concert. Between two songs taken from his last album, Do you know ?Singer-songwriter Yelle, Miossec, Nolwenn Leroy, Dominique A, and Kevin Camus will accompany them.

Return of the Great Parade of Celtic Nations

Every year, tens of thousands of spectators come to follow the journeys of musicians and dancers from all Celtic countries of Europe. Two years later, bagadoù, Celtic circles of Brittany, Scottish bagpipers, Welsh choirs, bandas of Galician bagpipes once again gathered to parade in costumes through the streets of Lorient. More than 3500 artists in total…
