Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, the oldest daughter of reality TV star Mama June Shannon and co-star of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” died Saturday of stage four adrenal carcinoma. She was 29.
“It is with broken hearts that we announce that @annamarie35 is no longer with us,” Shannon (44) wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “She passed away peacefully at my home last night at 11:12 p.m. She fought very hard for 10 months. She died surrounded by her family as if she had not and we will keep you all updated with more information as we receive it today. We love you all and continue to pray and think of our family during this difficult time.”
Shannon’s message comes days after another post asking fans to think of her family.
“You are all asking for prayers for our family as we go through this process. We thank you all so much for all your thoughts and prayers and will keep you all updated as we know all your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated during this time,” Shannon wrote.
Doctors reportedly discovered 29-year-old Cardwell’s cancer in her lungs, liver and kidneys in January.
