EXCLUSIVE: Peacock has acquired US rights to seasons one and two of the British sitcom Dissatisfied.
The series, from veteran British director Gary Sinyor, centers on an obsessive journalist for a fictional Jewish newspaper. Tim Downie (Foreigner, Paddington) Stars.
The “cringe” comedy is described as similar to the American hit in its approach Control your enthusiasm.
Both series can be seen on Prime in the UK and have also been picked up by Viaplay for Scandinavia, Poland and the Benelux.
The second season stars Jeany Spark as Paul’s swearing single sister Naomi and Mike Fenton Stevens as his mischievous father, while Josh Howie reprises his role as the neurotic single Simon.
Dissatisfied was written and directed by Gary Sinyor, whose credits include: Leon the pig farmer, Stiff upper lips and New line The old bachelor.
“Paul is like a younger Larry [David] but without the money and the success and still hair,” Sinyor said.
The series is produced by James Spring of Fred Films/Blue Penguin TV (Friends of the Fishermen).
