‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 7: See who got the first perfect score of the season

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 7: See who got the first perfect score of the season

It’s music video night in the ballroom, so it was everyone’s job to take inspiration from specific pop culture hits to bring a smile to guest judge Paula Adbul’s face. Turns out that wasn’t the case The difficult; Abdul dished out a lot of nines and tens!

Reality TV star Harry Jowsey (Too hot to touch) with partner Rylee Arnold. You know when someone is doing something Therefore Does watching TV make you want to curl up in a fetal position and pray for it to stop? It happened when Jowsey tried to channel a young Justin Timberlake (curly wig included) while dancing “Jazz” to N’Sync’s “It’s Gonna Be Me.” “This synchronization was not always on,” admitted juror Bruno Tonioli. “I just love looking at you, my love.” Score: 24 out of 40

Actor Barry Williams (The Brady gang) with partner Peta Murgatroyd. Williams is thrilled to have made it this far (as am I). Tonight his job was to perform the quick step to the fitting song “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John. Williams was slow and weak in his stride and didn’t look nearly as confident as in the past. “Not only are you still standing, you’re still smiling and you’re making us all laugh,” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said. “It’s sleek, it’s stylish.” Add up points: 28 out of 40

Actress Alyson Hannigan (American cake) with partner Sasha Farber. The exuberant Hannigan danced up the fast steps Christina Aguilera’s “Candyman” and almost everyone declared it their best dance of the season. “I love the opening nod to the music video,” added judge Derek Hough. “You stood your ground.” Add up points: 33 out of 40

Charity Lawson (The Bachelorette) with partner Artem Chigvintsev. Lawson began her jazz number of Janet Jackson’s “All For You” by performing it with three other female professionals. Did we really need Artem to join the fun? He ended up doing it by throwing his partner, who was wearing denim pants, into an elevator, her crotch hitting him face first as she landed. Oh dear. However, the judges were not as generous to Lawson as usual. “It’s hard to compete against Janet Jackson, but I have to say, you should be proud,” said Tonioli, who then gave her an 8. Score: 32 out of 40

Social media star and Latin music artist Lele Pons with his partner Brandon Armstrong. It was more than clear that the social media star relished the opportunity to open the show with a very sexy (and wonderfully hippie) salsa to Shakira’s “Whenever, Wherever.” “Your hips didn’t lie, my love. Great isolation,” Hough said. “Success!” Add up points: 33 out of 40

Actress Xochitl Gomez (Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness) with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Lucky Girl jazzed up Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl,” which is sure to leave people in awe: Who danced better?? I have to go with Gomez, not Gwen. “You are the most provocative and surprising partnerships in this ballroom,” Abdul said. “You are so wonderful and radiate so much joy.” Score: 34 out of 40

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz with partner Daniella Karagach. The professional had a foot injury and called in a band member to help Mraz prepare his jazz dance for 1985’s “Take On Me.” Against a cheesy backdrop of Mraz/Karagach skits mirroring the original music video, Mraz continued to bob and spin. He played his best song yet, so it was especially upsetting when Carrie Ann Inaba promptly threw it out. “What was great was that it was a jazz routine and it was maybe the most jazzy jazz,” she said. “It’s a watered down version of jazz. I was a little impressed with the performance.” Score: 35 out of 40

Ariana Madix (Vanderpump Rules) with partner Pasha Pashkov. Madix’s goal in life was to be Britney Spears’ best friend, so of course she was ready to cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha to the singer’s “I’m a Slave 4 You.” -cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha- purposes. And what an achievement it was; Madix really starts to get into this live performance. Why is she even wasting her time on Bravo? “Tonight you were a daring mixture of finesse and fury,” Abdul said. “You channeled Britney perfectly.” Score: 37 out of 40

Team dance round!

Madix and Pashkov were given immunity for being at the top of the rankings on Tuesday, and that’s what they’ll do not must attend the dance-off next week.

The “Young and Style” team consisting of Jowsey, Pons, Gomez and Lawson danced the fast step to Gangnam Style. Jowsey, who once again pulled off the Timberlake wig (oy), was the weakest link, but everyone got behind the signature moves of Psy’s ubiquitous video. I mean, who wouldn’t? The song is so incredibly addictive that you can’t help but copy the moves from the 2012 video. Hough was so impressed that he jumped over the desk and hugged Jowsey. “You are not a soloist,” he told him. “You are a team player.” Score: A perfect 40

Team 4 All (how?) consisting of Hannigan, Mraz, Madix and Williams performed the tango to the Backstreet Boys, ending with a killer lift-cum-twirl from Madix and Pashkov. However, you could tell that the jury was not nearly as impressed with it as with the Gangnam stylists. “It was another big number,” Tonioli said simply. Add up points: 37 out of 50

The final three (although host Alfonso Ribeiro said they were “not necessarily” the final three) were Williams, Pons and Lawson.

Punch is out. Williams will live to see another day!
