Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Reborn has added a new showrunner and new directors to its revamped creative team. Dario Scardapane (Jack Ryan, The Punisher by Tom Clancy) are as showrunners and directing team Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Loki) will direct the Charlie Cox series, sources confirm to Deadline.
The series recast its creative team after realizing the show wasn’t working as is. Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as well as the episode directors, were fired, but remain EPs on the two-season series. daredevil, The series, which first aired on Netflix, follows Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer turned crime-fighting superhero.
Less than half of the series’ 18 episodes have been recorded. Marvel plans to keep some footage, though the series will shift from a procedural show to a more series focus. Scardapone will write the new episodes and incorporate those already filmed, it is said. Benson and Moorhead will direct the remaining episodes of the first season.
Daredevil originally debuted on Netflix, but following the launch of Disney+, many Marvel series on Netflix returned to the Mouse House streaming service in mid-March 2022. Other Marvel series that moved from Netflix to Disney+ were Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Defenders And The punisher.
Benson and Moorhead’s directing credits include feature films he endless, spring, And Synchronous. You are no stranger to Marvel series and have directed two episodes of Marvel Moon Knightwith Oscar Isaac and two episodes from the second season of Lokiwhich is currently streaming on Disney+.
