Koh-Lanta – Maxime eliminated: "I saw Louana as a luxury lightning rod"

Being on the hot seat often, how did you go about this adventure?

I survived because of my mind. It was difficult to systematically go to council with this level of pressure, but I didn’t quit. The wind can turn at any moment on Koh-Lanta, so any advice earned was another victory.

Do you regret not going blonde?

Not at all, that wasn’t even an option I was considering.

Some of your teammates sometimes criticized your character…

I knew for Louana, we saw our little hiccups on TV but it was nothing serious. But what we see on television does not fully represent reality, for the most part everything went well.

In particular, he was suspected of stealing the cassava ration…

I did not receive anything! Some may have asked the question vaguely because I actually ate after everyone else, pretty simple.

What do you think of the strategy of Nicolas, who plays the mole for the reds?

It’s not a position I would personally take, but everyone develops their game as they wish. In Koh-Lanta, the goal is to get as far as possible.

What did you think when you had proof that Louana and Ambre wanted to eliminate you after reunification?

It is not possible to interpret images so directly. When we saw Louana say she wanted to vote against me, it was also maybe a strategy to impress Yannick… On the other hand, for Ambre, it was a real surprise, but I discovered it before the show even aired. During the show, during the play, we talked together again the next day and everything was fine.

Regarding your partner, Louana told us: “It was the worst possible combination in all of Ko-Lanta’s history”…

In any case, falling out with him made me laugh. Considering our relationship, I found this twist of fate hilarious. It was a good choice for me, Louana had shown his sporting qualities several times, but on the other hand he was part of a strong alliance. I saw Louana as a luxury lightning rod (laughs).

In what mood did you go to the parliament?

I proposed a strategy to Fouzi and Géraldine. I was worried that they would follow me, but I also trusted the green alliance that was protecting Louana and me. I’m so surprised it counted, I never thought they’d release a duet with Louana.

Does the arrangement that interests you satisfy you, does it reflect your personality?

I think I was smiling more than was shown on the screen.

How do you evaluate this experience?

To sum it up, a real dive into the unknown. For someone who likes to be in control, this adventure is clearly not for him. I am very happy to discover that my limits are much more than I could have imagined.

What if we offered you an All Star?

I would say yes, but not in Palawan, it rains a lot (laughs).
