Carole Gaessler at the controls
finished on 19/20, hello Citizens to the matches! The 55-year-old journalist embarks on a new challenge: I’m not going to turn myself into a sports reporter. What interests me are the emotions of sports. We don’t yet realize it today, but it will increase in strength until it bursts into flame three months before kickoff. We will be there in all these moments and show how the country has become dynamic to embrace the whole world. »
Concept
This 26-minute magazine is divided into three important sections. Above all, Le Feuilleton des Jeux, where the camera will follow around fifty Game players in their daily lives, whether they are athletes, site managers, chefs (like Maxime Mazier, who is in charge of preparing the athletes’ meals), volunteers… Another chapter is Histoire(s) de Jeux, compiled by journalist Alexandre Boyon, who will return to the fate of extraordinary champions. Finally, Le Tic Tac des Jeux, which will follow the progress of work at the Olympic Village, the restrictions associated with the preparations and the organization of an unprecedented opening ceremony, is planned outside a stadium for the first time: on the Seine!
Multiplier names
Several former champions will be speaking regularly, including Laure Manaudou, Marie-Jo Pérec, Stéphane Diagana, Céline Dumerc and former Paralympic swimmer Théo Curin, who will have his own division, Théo le taxi, every Friday. He will carry athletes with whom he will discuss both their sports and personal lives.
