Endeavor Group Holdings CEO Ari Emanuel, whose $308 million bonus package in 2021 drew attention, made $19.1 million in 2022, according to the company’s most recent proxy filing.
The executive took home $4 million in salary, $8.2 million in bonuses and $6 million in non-equity incentive compensation, the filing said.
Emanuel’s total slightly exceeded CFO Jason Lublin, President and COO Mark Shapiro, with Lublin taking $18.5 million and Shapiro $18.7 million.
Executive Chairman Patrick Whitesell, whose 2021 package was $123.1 million, took home $12.2 million last year.
After a planned IPO was canceled at the eleventh hour in 2019, Endeavor finally went public in April 2021, simultaneously acquiring full ownership of the UFC. The offer significantly increased the remuneration packages for the entire management team. The parent company of agencies WME and IMG has grown beyond its roots in representation and recently partnered with WWE to create a new $21 billion public entity, with Endeavor holding 51% and WWE the other 49% check. Endeavor’s portfolio spans live events, data, gaming, fashion, technology and sports.
While Endeavor’s stock is up more than 20% so far in 2023, it’s trading below where it went public. The easing of Covid in 2022 has helped boost the company’s entertainment and sports interests, but the past year has also brought turbulent economic conditions and a sour advertising market, with media and technology stocks suffering the most .
Endeavor will report its first quarter financial results on May 9 and will convene its annual meeting of shareholders on June 13.
