The person who plays Jean-Paul Boher in Plus belle la vie plays a baker, played by his wife Estelle Lefébure.

You who played the role of police for a long time better lifeHere you find yourself facing police commander Léo Matteï (Jean-Luc Reichmann)… What are your impressions?

Stephen Henon: You know, I’m used to it. Boher was under the command of Commander Nebout (Jérôme Bertin) for a long time. Here in France, as a baker who won the Best Baguette award, I tried to mislead Matteï by making beautiful baguettes. (Laughs) This man who buys the melon isn’t very nice with his wife, Amanda, played by the bright, sunny, and adorable Estelle Lefébure.

A wife who needs support more than ever since she hasn’t heard from her son Raphaël, who was born from her first marriage to Patrick (Xavier Deluc). How do you explain the behavior of her second husband?

Jealous of the ongoing bond between his wife and his ex, he worries about his children. I think it’s the resentment of this man, whose work is difficult, that every morning at 4 o’clock he has to leave his great wife in bed to knead her bread instead of warming herself next to her.

You and Estelle have one thing in common: her daughter, Emma Smet, plays comedy just like yours, her name is Kina.

It starts. He even passed the first casting. Here it all begins (TF1). They chose someone else, but he won’t give up. This is the law of this profession, where he has so many perspectives as I do. We are not saving lives, we are just trying to give pleasure and happiness. I realized this when I had the chance to appear on stage with Jean-Paul Belmondo (editor’s note in the 1990 play Cyrano de Bergerac, directed by Robert Hossein), whose kindness and simplicity do not equate to his detachment from work. .

Did you also take a step back from the judgment of Plus belle la vie published in France 3?

Completely and immediately. I thought it would be very difficult, but it is not at all. That’s right, we’re the show’s spacers. I see the glass half-full and tell myself that I have had a chance to do this for sixteen years. I’m also happy that I was able to shoot the ending with everyone. Emotionally, it was great.

Some of your former partners still hope to continue the adventure in one way or another. would you go?

Not anyway. I want it to stay as the series we know. It’s not cheap like “We’re a bunch of friends, we’re going to make a short film”. If we loved plus belle la vie, we got to do it right.

Speaking of short films, you directed Nemesis alongside Noémie Merlant, who was named Best Supporting Actress in L’Innocent and César in 2013…

He was a baby in business. But we felt real, real potential. In one scene, he sang a long monologue that brought tears to our eyes in one take. What an honor to see it awarded!
