Late Night Show Hosts All Joke After Donald Trump’s Indictment: “Beautiful day in New York, 70 degrees and sunny with a prospect of jail,” says Colbert

After Donald Trump was indicted on 34 felonies, the hosts of the late-night show had a field day mocking the former US president.

Stephen Colbert started his arrive late Monologue while talking about the weather in the Big Apple.

“It was an absolutely beautiful day here in New York,” he said. “70 degrees and sunny with a view of the prison.”

Around The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonthe show’s host said, “It’s a great day to be in New York City… Well, unless you’re a person.”

Fallon continued, saying, “History was made in New York today when former President Trump became the first US president ever to be arrested and charged with criminal charges. Trump made history [and] The only good news for Trump in Florida is that all history books will be thrown away.”

NBC’s late-night show also featured some jokes with a meme that read: “Trump looks like he’s watching another table at Applebee’s get their food first.”

Jimmy Kimmel tweeted, “when all your dads go to jail,” along with a photo of Jared Kushner. Kushner’s father pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion and witness tampering and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Seth Meyers dedicated his “A Closer Look” segment to the former president, who poked fun at a photo of Trump in court looking like “this is the first time in his life that anything has ever dawned on him has.”

The late-night show host also noted the lack of hearing from his supporters at the Manhattan courthouse, who seemed to be “outnumbered by both reporters and deaf.” Meyers also lashed out at Marjorie Taylor Green, saying she “came screaming and yelling like crazy — something that only a tourist from Georgia would think would get her attention in New York City.” He mocked George Santos’ lies, claiming the US representative claimed he was the one who “had sex with Stormy Daniels”.

Meyers hosted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and said it was a coincidence since she was booked weeks in advance. There, the US representative was asked for her reaction to Trump’s charge.

“I think I always felt that something could happen,” she said. Honestly, if anything, I would have thought it would be something like that, close [the] Forgery of business documents or any kind of encumbrance related to documents or finances.”

Ocasio-Cortez added that her father worked in construction and since she was a child, “nobody knew [Trump] better than the New Yorkers, and people would have thought he was going to do that before he became president.”

The US official said it was a matter of “due process” and that the law should apply to everyone.
