Saoirse Ronan, known for her roles in Atonement and Little Women, has signed on to portray Paul McCartney’s first wife, Linda McCartney. According to Deadline, The Beatles – Four-Movie Cinema Event was directed by Sam Mendes.
Saoirse Ronan joins the cast of The Beatles, the Four-Movie Cinematic Event Note ed.). Starring actors include Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
Ronan is expected to play a major role in the McCartney film, as each of Mendes’ Beatles films tells the story of a different member of the band. All Beatles movies will be released in theaters in April 2028.
Linda McCartney was a photographer, musician and animal rights activist. He became famous in the 1960s for his portraits of the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and The Doors. Linda became the first female photographer to have her work featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. She married Paul McCartney in 1969 and worked with him in the band Wings after the breakup of The Beatles. Supporting vegetarianism and animal welfare, Linda founded her own company, Linda McCartney Foods, in 1991. He died of cancer in 1998.
