Omar Epps is starring in the Netflix limited series The Perfect Couple

EXCLUSIVE: Omar Eps (Power Book III: Raise Kanan) has signed a deal to join the star-studded cast of Netflix’s limited series The perfect couplebased on the New York Times bestseller by Elin Hilderbrand.

He plays police chief Dan Carter in the six-episode crime drama. Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Dakota Fanning, Eve Hewson and Jack Reynor will also star as we previously told you.

The perfect couple follows Amelia Sacks, who is about to marry into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families. Her disapproving mother-in-law, acclaimed author Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning the first wedding of the season – until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets are uncovered, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that seems plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. And suddenly everyone is a suspect.

21 Laps developed the show as part of their overall deal with Netflix and will produce alongside The Jackal Group. It was created by showrunner Jenna Lamia, who will produce alongside Shawn Levy and Josh Barry of 21 Laps, Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady of The Jackal Group Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Hilderbrand and director Susanne Bier.

Three-time NAACP Award winner Epps currently stars in Starz’s hit crime drama series Power Book III: Raise Kanan, which has been renewed for a third season. He is perhaps best known for starring opposite Hugh Laurie in all eight seasons of Fox’s award-winning medical drama. house also acted in series such as the American drama ProtectNBC’s It’s us and that of ABC resurrection.

On the film side, Epps recently starred opposite Michael Ealy in the Lionsgate thriller You know the bad as well as that of Netflix Fatal Affair starring Nia Long, the streamer’s most-streamed film in the US in the two weeks following its debut. Other notable feature credits include Love & Basketball And Juice.

Lee Daniels’ Netflix-connected horror thriller is also coming for the actor The Liberation, starring Andra Day, Mo’Nique, Aunjanue Ellis and more. He is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
