What did you come to the show for?
Oli: The sound adventure is huge! We used to watch the program as a family when we were little. It was hard to refuse because of the prestige of the show and the love of being a part of it. We are here to learn, meet artists and listen to other music. We are currently in the process of creating a record label where we have been working with artists for nearly two years. We came to meet talents, of course, but we also came to find a great future singer or singer from different backgrounds.
Bigflo: Making The Voice is a goal that has been on our minds for quite some time, especially since Soprano is also involved! We asked a lot of questions. We asked ourselves: “Are we not too young?” We are two, do they want us? We tinkered with the production for a while before it finally came to fruition.
You only share one bell for two people. How did you manage to agree on the choice of talents?
Bigflo : I’m older so basically I have priority, that’s my big brother privilege! (Laughs) I buzzed once or twice without Oli’s approval, but most of the time we have the same sensitivity. From the first grades, either you are not interested or you have won. It’s rare for us to go completely off track.
Oli: Musically, we’re so close that the question didn’t even arise. Of the hundreds of voices we heard, we almost always agreed.
How do you see the candidates for this number?
Bigflo: I was shocked by the level! And alive is even stronger. I was expecting beautiful little singers. (Laughs) And I got big pies! I thought there would be three to stand out but most of the Talents are excellent. And when the competition heats up in the Cross Wars stage, only the killers are left! We were very pleasantly surprised.
Oli: Especially since we’re in the twelfth edition! We imagined we were walking around the big voices in France, but that’s not the case at all.
The Voice’s universe is not a complete stranger to you, as you coached the Belgian version in 2017…
Bigflo: Absolutely and we have a great memory! We made real friendships especially with Quentin Mosimann (Winner of season 7 of Star Academy and coach of The Voice Belgium, editor’s note), who became friends.
oli : We also maintained strong ties with some of our Belgian Talents, such as Tyana Plewacki, at the opening of our concerts. We realize that it was “wow” that the Voice of Belgium trusted us back then because we were so young and only released one album. We came to The Voice France with this background and it gave us a lot of confidence. If it wasn’t for this first experience, we would have experienced much more stress and anxiety.
The Voice: Saturday, March 11 at 21:10 on TF1
