In this TV movie, you must lead the investigation alongside a gendarme captain you hate. It’s a very different role from Estelle Cantorel’s, who reveals you in Plus belle la vie. Do you appreciate?
Elodie Varlet: Yes, it’s interesting to capture the relationship between these two gendarmes to understand what brings these two gendarmes together, separates them, and how their personal stories get mixed up. It also replaces thrillers that are often quite calibrated and very similar. Samy Gharbi, who plays Captain Riad Lekcir, and we both have something to defend and, unlike at the beginning of the story, we got along very well.
But the shooting conditions were complicated…
It is true that we had a lot of problems with the weather, it rained a lot. It was quite folkloric to experience. In the off-season it was also fun to find ourselves in the village of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc and integrate ourselves into the daily life of the villagers. I still remember my giggles when we had karaoke at the local bar.
Are you ready to shoot the sequel?
In Belgium, where the TV movie has already aired, we are asked for this movie, that would be great! While I wait to see if that will happen, I’m shooting the Mercato series, which will air on TF1 in 2024, and the psychological thriller À fleur de peau for France Télévisions.
