EXCLUSIVE: quality brand The way home — the network’s first new original series in nearly seven years — has been renewed for a second season.
The drama, starring Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh, has been a ratings winner since it premiered on January 15, regularly topping Bravo’s Real Housewives of the PotomacTLCs 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Roadand HGTV’s hometown on Sunday evenings. It is the #1 most watched Sunday program among households, P2+, W18+ and P18+ based on L+SD.
Viewership among women and younger viewers also increased during the season (+54% with W25-54, +42% with P25-54, +59% with W18-49 and +34% with P18-49). Based on L+3 to February 19, The way home is the second most-watched show overall with HHs, P2+, W18+ and P18+, just behind Hallmark’s own original film.
“The press and our audiences embraced The Way Home from episode one, making the decision to renew the series an easy one,” said Lisa Hamilton Daly, executive vice president, programming, Hallmark Media. “We’re excited to continue the Landry family journey and can’t wait for fans to see what’s next.”

The series follows three generations of Landry women as they embark on a journey to reunite while learning important lessons about their family’s past. The cast of the multigenerational family drama includes MacDowell (Domestic worker), Leigh (super girl), Evan Williams (Blonde), Sadie Laflamme-Sneeu (the intern)Alex Hook (I’m Frankie), Al Mukadam (Beautiful hard case, the detail), Jefferson Brown (Masters of romance, slashers) and David Webster (The happiest girl in the world, in the dark).
The way home executive producers are Marly Reed, Arnie Zipursky and Lauren MacKinlay for Neshama Entertainment; Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew for MarVista Entertainment; and Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, MacDowell and Leigh.
