The Hurt Unit: Ashley Romans Joins ABC Pilot in Recast

EXCLUSIVE: Ashley Romans (Y: The last man) is cast as a series regular on ABC’s medical drama Pilot alongside Ben McKenzie, Melissa George, Michelle Ortiz and Augustus Prew. The wounded unit. you replaced bull Alumna Jaime Lee Kirchner was originally cast in the pilot, which was written by Matt Lopez and John Glenn and directed by Marc Webb.

Sources say Kirchner gave up over creative differences in the production. Her scenes are overshot with novels. Although unfortunate, rearrangements are relatively common and part of the court process.

The wounded unit follows a highly skilled team of trauma surgeons and nurses led by Danny (McKenzie), a self-made surgeon who rushes into the field to treat the patients who don’t make it to the hospital in time. When the sick and injured cannot go to the emergency room, the trauma unit (Hospital Urgent Response Team) brings the emergency room to them.

Romans stars as Nora, a working-class surgeon who received her training by joining the Navy and served as a trauma surgeon in various war zones. She would like Dr. Join Danny Marsh’s (McKenzie) elite HURT unit, and although she’s almost as brilliant a surgeon as he is, he doesn’t want her on his team until she shares her troubled past with him.

Glenn and Webb are executive producers of the ABC Signature-produced pilot.

Romans was a protagonist in the post-apocalyptic series FX J: The last man, which ran for one season on Hulu. Her series credits also include AMC’s supernatural horror drama NOS4A2, in which she began as a recurring actress and was promoted to series regular in Season 2. Romans, who also returned on Showtime’s Shameless, will next appear on Peacock’s Mrs. Davis. It is represented by Schumacher Management and Innovative Artists.
