“Sinking Spring”: Michael Mando leaves Apple series;  Wagner Moura to replace him

Wagner Moura (narcotics) stars alongside Brian Tyree Henry in the Apple TV+ crime drama series spring chassisof Top Gun: Maverick Author Peter Craig, in a new version. You better call Saul Alum Michael Mando was originally cast in the role, but was fired after an incident on set involving a cast member. The rewrite will take place during the filming of the series, which will be directed and produced by Ridley Scott through his Scott Free Productions.

Based on the book by Dennis Tafoya drug thief, spring chassis follows old Philly friends and criminals who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown cottage, but their petty grievances turn into a life-or-death gamble when they unknowingly uncover the largest hidden drug ring on the east coast.

Moura plays Manny Cespedes, a kind-hearted friend of Ray (Henry) who he first met when they spent time together at juvenile authority.

Craig created the eight-episode series and produced and directed one episode. Scott is producing with David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger for Scott Free Productions. Henry serves as executive producer and Tafoya as consulting producer. The series is from Apple Studios and is produced by Scott Free Productions.

Moura recently starred alongside Elisabeth Moss in the Apple TV+ series Radiant girls.
