Look, Meredith Gray is leaving.
In anticipation of Ellen Pompeo’s final appearance as Meredith on February 23. Grey’s AnatomyABC has released a moving video that pays homage to the actress’ 19 seasons on the medical drama.

“I have many memories of people.‘ said Meredith out loud. “That’s where I fell in love. That’s where I found my family.”
The memorial features clips featuring Gray alumni including George (TR Knight), Izzie (Katherine Heigl), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Addison (Kate Walsh) and of course Derek (Patrick Dempsey).
“I learned to be a doctor here”continues Meredith. “I’ve saved lives and my life has been saved. I’ve been through broken bones and a destroyed house. And I’ve gone through the deaths of people I love.”
“As one chapter closes, another opens”continues Meredith.
Meredith sadly ends the video as she leaves Seattle for a fresh start in Boston, where she will work to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease: “This is the place I will always call home.”
Despite this nostalgic farewell, fans of Grey’s Anatomy can rest easy knowing that Meredith will be back before we know it.
Ellen Pompeo told E! News that he will be returning for the Season 19 finale, which will air later this spring, at the People’s Choice Awards in December 2022.
