Actor Cody Longo (aka Cody Anthony), best known for his role as Nicholas Almain on NBC’s daytime drama days of our lives, and also as Eddie Duran in Hollywood HeightsHe has passed away, his manager Alex Gittelson confirmed to Deadline. He was 34.
According to TMZ, Longo was found dead at his home in Austin, Texas on Wednesday. Worried that she couldn’t reach him while working at a local dance studio, his wife, Stephanie Clark, asked police for a welfare check. He was found dead in bed when officers arrived, TMZ reported.
“Cody was our whole world,” Clark told Deadline. “The children and I are crushed and further crushed. He was the best father and the best father. We will always and forever miss and love you.”
Longo began his career in theater before moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career in film and television, according to his IMDB bio. He studied psychology and film at UCLA.
Longo played Nicholas Almain in the first season of days of our lives. He landed the lead role of Eddie Duran Hollywood Heights. The series follows aspiring singer-songwriter Loren Tate (Brittany Underwood) whose life is changed forever when she meets her rock star idol, Eddie Duran (Longo).
His other TV appearances include guest/recurring roles CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Brothers and Sisters and last Nashville, The Catch And secrets and lies. His film work includes wild flower And Not today.
Longo was also a singer/songwriter who cracked the Billboard Top 100 chart in 2014 with his song “She Said,” which peaked at #3 with his debut album. He has worked on various film and television projects as music supervisor and executive producer.
His longtime friend and manager Alex Gittelson paid tribute to Longo in a statement to Deadline.
“Cody was a dear friend going back many years before he became a customer,” Gittelson said. “My heart breaks for his wonderful wife and children. He took time off from acting to pursue his music career and spend more time with his family in Nashville, but we kept in touch and he was looking forward to returning to acting this year. Cody was such a loyal, loving and talented person and we will miss him very much.”
Longo leaves behind his wife Stephanie and three young children.
